Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and FocusJourno (“we”, “us”) about your use of FocusJourno at focusjourno.app. By creating an account or using FocusJourno, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use FocusJourno. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data.

What FocusJourno is

FocusJourno is a web app with a focus timer, a daily journal, simple projects and stats. We may add, change or remove features over time to make it better.

Not medical advice

FocusJourno is a productivity tool. It isn't a medical device, and it doesn't diagnose or treat ADHD or any other condition. Our articles share general ideas, not medical advice. If ADHD or your mental health affects your daily life, please talk to a qualified professional.

Your account

• You must be 18 or over to create an account.
• Give accurate details, and keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
• An account is for one person. Don't share it or sell access to it.
• Tell us straight away at hello@focusjourno.app if you think someone else has used your account.

Plans, the free trial and payments

Plans. FocusJourno costs $3.99 a month or $29.99 a year, in US dollars. Taxes may be added depending on where you live. The price you'll pay is always shown before you confirm.

Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You'll be asked for a payment method, but you won't be charged during the trial. We'll remind you before the trial ends. If you don't cancel before it ends, you'll be charged the yearly price. Each person can have one free trial.

Monthly plan. The monthly plan has no free trial. You're charged when you subscribe, and then every month.

Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account. You'll keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.

Refunds. If you're charged and didn't mean to be, for example because you forgot to cancel, email us within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it.

Price changes. If we change our prices, we'll tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, so you can cancel first if you prefer.

Our payment provider. Payments are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record for your purchase. Its terms of sale also apply to your payment.

Your content

Everything you write in FocusJourno, including your journal, tasks and notes, belongs to you. You give us permission to store it, back it up, sync it between your devices and show it to you, only so we can run FocusJourno for you. We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't sell it.

You're responsible for what you put into FocusJourno. Please don't store anything that's illegal or that you don't have the right to keep.

Using FocusJourno fairly

Please don't:

• break the law, or use FocusJourno to harm anyone;
• try to get into other people's accounts or into our systems;
• overload, disrupt or scrape the service;
• copy, resell or try to extract the source code of FocusJourno, except where the law allows it.

Keeping FocusJourno running

We work hard to keep FocusJourno available and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. Please keep your own copy of anything important: you can download all your data at any time from your account.

If we ever decide to close FocusJourno, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can download your data.

Ending your use

You can stop using FocusJourno and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to download your data first.

Our responsibility to you

FocusJourno is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please email us first; most problems can be sorted out quickly. If we can't resolve a dispute together, the courts of India will have jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using FocusJourno after that, the new terms apply.
